Fantastic ice cream! This ice cream shop makes their own waffle cones and has a great variety of flavors. Plenty of seating inside, and they have a patio outside! The staff were very friendly even on the busy day that i was there. They also sell Fritz’s beverages. Try the Cookie Monster ice cream (see pic- it was full of delicious cookie crumbles!). It was delicious! Perfect place to cool off in the summer.

One of the best ice cream shops I've ever been too, i had a simple sweet cream malt and it was so delicious I wanted to kick myself for ordering a small and also not at least sampling some of the flavors, which they had like 30 to choose from. My only complaint is they didn't have pralines and cream

Excellent ice cream! SO many flavors and everything we had was delicious. The staff was friendly and patient while we tried to decide. Serving sizes were very generous, and I thought the prices were very reasonable. We traveled a bit to visit and will definitely return!

This is one of the few ‘old school’ ice cream shops still around. They make their ice cream and have a wide variety of flavors and sherbets in the tubs. The make their waffle cones and bowls fresh (the entire store smells delicious when they are in baking mode. This shop has been around for the entire time we’ve lived in the area but have now doubled in size by expanding indoor seating into the next building space where they are located. Delicious, huge portions. Fast service. Friendly staff. And always willing to let you sample new flavors, or if you just can’t decide!

The best ice cream ever! They make all of their ice cream in-house, and there are always new flavors to try. Not sure what you want to get? Just ask for a sample of whatever catches your eye. The employees are always so nice and friendly too.

Such an amazing variety of high quality, delicious ice cream flavors. One scoop is enough for me, as they pack as much ice cream in the cone as they can. Reasonable prices.Very friendly service, and a clean and quaint shop. I recommend Tiger Tracks if you're in the mood for peanut butter, which in my case is all the time.

Very very delicious! I've only been one time on a date, but that was enough for me to decide this place rocks your socks off! I have had a LOT of ice cream in my day, (probably too much) and this place was easily my favorite. I've honestly been trying to figure out what place I went and am excited to say I have found it again! Sylas & Maddy's is my long lost ice cream place! You can definitely tell the difference in taste/texture from other places. Also, the people are nice too.

Icecream is top notch and amazing value. But for the love of all that is good in the world desribe the flavors somewhere easy to read. I dont care that this icecream is bold, I want to know what is in the damn thing.

Very clean & nice restaurant. Ice cream was top notch. The employees were very nice & respectful. Extra Toppings on the ice are definitely price....at $1.10 per scoop of extra Toppings. They have seating outside. It's usually packed and very busy during the summer months. Was voted one of the best ice cream shops in Kansas City area.

I go here all the time in the summer to get icecream and every time it meets my expectations! The icecream is exquisite, and the sorbets are devine! And to top it all of you get 2 nice size scoops of any 2 flavors of your choice for only $3.70! The customer service is also swell they always have smiles on there faces and are very polite and let you take your time to choose your flavors! On top of ALL that they also have two VERY clean bathrooms!!!! Sylas and Madies is a place I trust and will continue to trust and I hope you do to.

I’m a huge fan of ice cream and this is the gold standard. I’m always trying to find a place that is as good as Sylas and Maddy’s and I’ve gotta tell you, I don’t think I’ve ever found one in any state (Ample Hills in NYC comes close). I’m usually not a fan of vanilla based ice cream but here I prefer those. PB and Waffles is THE BEST! Also, the double scoop is gigantic, big enough to split between 2 adults in my opinion (says the girl who can easily eat a pint of ice cream....)

I know high quality ice cream is expensive. 3 bucks a scoop might seem like a lot. But quality hand made ice cream is so much more satisfying than store bought. This place is no exception.They have so many flavors to choose from it's hard to pick though it would be nice if they had the descriptions posted on a wall. Us three got different flavors (Paxman, cotton candy, dark chocolate) and they were all great. I can see why this place is popular.

Fun variety of ice cream with inventive names, including flavors that honor the three nearby universities. It was very busy the night we went and we still found seating for the seven of us. It is a lot of fun.

Middle of winter and the place was packed. Understood why afterwards. Best ice cream in the area and the prices are very reasonable and the service was very quick.

I really enjoyed this place. They have some unique flavors of ice cream and a good selection of cones, shakes, and malts.The customer service is very good and the prices are a little cheaper than Cold Stone. The waffle cones aren't the extra crunchy waffle cones that I am accustomed to. They're a little softer than what I was expecting, but still good.

I drive 200 miles every other weekend during summers to indulge in savory goodness.

This is my favorite ice cream place! I LOVE Queen of Hearts (raspberry & chocolate) and my kids love Cookie Monster (cookies & blue vanilla). They make their own waffle cones, which always smell delicious when you walk in the door. I also love how they drop a malted milk ball in the cone so the ice cream doesn't leak out! It definitely gets crowded, but it's always worth the wait!

1. They have a great system for serving customers. No matter how long the line is, it moves right along. 2. A single scoop is like a double anywhere else, and you can get two flavors. 3. They expanded seating not long ago so you can relax and enjoy your ice cream right there. 4. They have lots of fun flavors.

This is a high quality, local, mom & pop owned ice cream shop. The ice cream is home made and delicious! They make unique and popular flavor combinations. For example, I like peanut butter in my ice cream. They had 5 combinations to choose from using caramel, fudge, brownies, cookie dough and an assortment of other flavor adds. They have both inside and outside seating with an area inside where a party could be held. It was over 90 degrees outside, but the inside seating area was pleasantly cool! This is the place to bring a date or the entire family!

Ice cream that is just amazing! They had all sorts of regular flavors but I choose the Kansas Twister which is peanut butter ice cream with peanuts, Oreos and fudge swirl. It that doesn't sound like something you want to try, then I don't know what to say. The sell a single or double scoop cup or come and their idea of a scoop is HUGE! Double scoop after tax was less than $5. If you love ice cream, this is a MUST STOP!

The ice cream is home made. That's it. Good ice cream, lousy service (but with a smile).3 out of 6 times, they took people who cane in the door while we were at the counter next. 5 of the 6 times, I was smart enough to pay with cash. My card had to be frozen after using it there. Only place in person in ages.And, FYI ... They can only handle cash or credit/debit. I can pay most places with a check or my bank app at least. Not there.Honestly, food is great. But, when I pay as much for a dip of ice cream as for an entire large container that tastes as good at a store, the customer service, ambiance, matter.And, those are lacking there for me. I'd rather hit anyplace with a pleasant atmosphere, flexibility, and a sense if commitment to service.I'm sure I'll get dragged into places like Sylas & Maddies again and again. It's the price of parenthood.But, my choice will always be anywhere else.

Okay, I wish I could more than 5 stars. Our family's favorite ice cream shop. The location, the decor, the feel, and the ambience is amazing. Simple yet chic. Even though there is wait sometimes but you won't mind it which is a reminder to just chill. So many flavors to try from and all fresh made. We have stopped eating store bought icecream tubs because you can't beat the fresh and amazing taste. Great customer-service, friendly staff, and clean location. Best place in Kansas City to have ice-cream. Our favorite's are single scoop in waffle cones. Plus, they have great shakes. Go and enjoy.
